Considerations and Recommendations For Expenditure Reductions
1. Approve the Restructuring of Schools
a. Idella Kitley Intermediate School Becomes the Idella Kitley Elementary School.
b. Edgewood Intermediate School Becomes Edgewood Kindergarten/Early Childhood Center and all Developmental Pre-School and Kindergarten Students will be enrolled there.
c. Wanamaker Elementary and Acton Elementary will be Closed and that their Student Populations will be Assigned to Idella Kitley Elementary School.
2. Approve Development of Student Fees for Athletic Participation
3. Approve Assignment of Hourly Classified Employees to Health Insurance Plan 3 and Change the Contribution Towards the Cost of Plan 3 (85% - 90%).
4. Approve the Implementation of a Three-Tier Bus Schedule that Requires Splitting Elementary Schools into Two Different Tiers; Transporting All K-12 Students to School and requiring all general education K-12 Riders to Pay a Rider Fee.
5. Approve Reductions in Administrator Health Insurance Benefits by 15%.
6. Eliminate Paid Holidays for All Classified Staff Employed Less Than 12 Months Per Year.

I have been asked by many to post the proposal made at the last board meeting to save the schools. you will find the proposal below:

Revised proposal for saving closure of two elementary schools

- Increase parent’s fee for full day $742,920.00
kindergarten to total $1,640.00
for the year, (based on calculations
for cost to educate each full day
kindergartener)

- Increase lunch price by $ .52 per $313,185.00
student, a total of $93.60 per year
(approx. 3,346 students affected)

- RISE surplus $165,000.00

- Teacher Insurance contribution to $165,000.00
general fund

- Cut one (1) Tech administrator $71,812.00
position

Total saved: $1,457,917.00
